The event is aimed at advanced quality planners, test technicians, laboratory specialists, and key account managers on the side of textile surface manufacturers producing roll goods and fabricated materials for the transportation and furniture industries, as well as buyers and quality planners from brand companies and OEMs.
The automotive and furniture industries are under growing pressure to adopt sustainable textiles at scale. Yet one barrier keeps slowing progress: material approvals. When approval processes and component PPAPs cannot keep pace with innovation, even the most promising sustainable materials stall on their way to series production.
The forum will focus on the question of which strategies OEMs – including Volkswagen and Stellantis – are pursuing to increase the use of sustainable textiles in the automotive and furniture industries and which pathways they intend to follow to ensure that the necessary material approvals and component PPAPs do not become a bottleneck slowing down the introduction of new sustainable materials into series production.
